How Much Longer Will We Need a "Doc Fix"?

After the year-long postpone from having to fix the Medicare "sustainable growth rate" formula, Congress is once again scrambling to avoid the 27 percent cut to Medicare physicians pay in January 2012.

Hopes for the permanent fix this year dimmed with the failure of the super committee. That means any "doc fix" Congress passes will final no longer than the year, at most maybe dual years.

How most some-more years will it take before the permanent solution is found? Is the bill from Rep. Alyson Schwartz, D-Pa., a first step to henceforth addressing the Medicare SGR? Or is the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission plan, which cuts most doctors pay, the some-more realistic solution?
