Nursing home death prompts murder inquiry

A attempted murder review has been launched following the death of a woman at a nursing home in Waterford. Vera Vollrath, 83, was found passed in her room yesterday sunrise by staff at Killure Bridge Nursing Home, where she was a resident. A post mortem examination took place final night as well as this sunrise garda confirmed that a attempted murder review had been launched. A male was arrested yesterday at Dublin Airport in connection with the death as well as will be questioned throughout the day. It is understood that he knew Ms Vollrath but had nothing to do with the nursing home. Garda will await directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions before determining on whether a court coming will happen today or tomorrow.
