CWC Nursing Success February 15th, 2012

Reported By: Keith Kocinski Central Wyoming College nursing students continually test well before entering the workforce. In 2011, CWC nursing students had the highest success rate in the State of Wyoming on the NCLEX exam, the 95 percentsuccess rate. Faculty members hold students are better prepared because of the rigorous curriculum as well as ability to benefit unsentimental experience at local hospitals. "The nursing program is very intense. Students have to take the lot of credits as well as spend the lot of time working on course work," pronounced Kathy Wells, CWC Nursing Director. "I was the 4.0 student before I entered the nursing program as well as for the first time I got Bs on the integrate of the courses so yes I would say challenging is the good way of putting it," pronounced Roderick Printz, First Year Nursing Student. Many CWC nursing students found the stakes are very high. "They come to us as single parents; they come to us as relatives supporting kids coming from perhaps the two compensate check household to now only one of the relatives working. It is very difficult to work as well as go to nursing school full time," pronounced Wells. Most CWC nursing graduates remain in Wyoming as well as provide local hospitals with quality nurses. "Approximately 75 percent of the students which we connoisseur from the nursing program get the job in Wyoming somewhere," pronounced Wells. CWC nursing faculty take pleasure meaningful their students are qualified but go on pushing forward. "Although we are anxious with 95 percent pass rate being the highest in the state which is very sparkling but we are always essay for the 100 percent. That is the goal every year." pronounced Wells. Central Wyoming College students complete R-N certifications in two years compared to 4 years at many universities. CWC functions with other Wyoming colleges to create the competency-based nursing curriculum. This helps nurses around Wyoming enter the workforce with the uniform academic background.
