6 Davao colleges to lose Nursing program

DAVAO CITY -- Six colleges in Davao City have been during risk of losing a nursing program they offer for failing to urge flitting rates in Nursing Licensure Examinations (NLE) for a past 3 years.Commission on Higher Education (Ched)-Davao Region education supervisor Maricar Casquejo said Tuesday a six nursing schools classified as non-performing schools were since an choice whether to totally stop or to progressively proviso out a program.Of a six nursing schools, only four decided for a gradual proviso out of a program.Casquejo identified these four nursing schools as Holy Child School of Davao, Tecaro College Foundation Inc., STI College of Davao, and Davao Merchant Marine Academy. These schools decided not to accept first year enrollees starting school year 2012-2013.The Ched official refused to name a two other schools as these have not yet inform Ched of which of a two options they would choose.It was reported earlier that 80 nursing schools nationwide have been during risk of shutting down this year due to low flitting rates in NLE and its failure to advance a quality of education in which a faculty and school's comforts have been part.Ched requires nursing schools to eke out during least 30 percent flitting rate in nursing board.Last years nursing house flitting rate was a low 33.92 percent, a decrease from a December 2010 results. Before last years result, 2010s flitting rate was a lowest in history.Last week, Ched Executive Director Julito Vitriolo voiced that as many as 80 schools nationwide stand to lose their nursing grade programs after recording very low flitting rates in a nursing board. Aside from a 80 schools, 20 nursing schools have voluntarily phased out their programs, again since of poor performance.There have been 491 nursing schools all over a country.The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has expressed concern over a low flitting rate in a NLE.Powered By iWebRSS.co.cc
